Gives the player the ability to brighten or darken his sound, in varying degrees, with a simple adjustment. The object is to hit the nodal point so that the horn will "speak" easier.
Depending on the individual's intensity of air stream, adjusting the brace to the right or left of the nodal point, (toward the bell or toward the receiver), will brighten or darken the sound quality.
