The roundup is put off again and again as he deals with a crooked police captain, an ex-slave from South Carolina, Missouri outlaws, and a fighting bull.

Anderson's Roundup is a western novel for readers who don't normally read westerns. There's plenty of action, wonderful characters, and a satisfying story.
