| Trumpeter and flugelhornist Freddie Hendrix is a native of Teaneck,
New Jersey. He recently graduated from New Jersey City University with a
Masters in Jazz Performance. Freddie has performed and/or recorded throughout
the United States and abroad with such notables as George Benson, Michael
Brecker, Lou Donaldson, Jon Faddis, Slide Hampton, Wynton Marsalis, Rufus
Reid, Dr. Lonie Smith, Byron Stripling, Marcus Belgrave, Joe Williams, James
Spaulding, Kenny Burrell, Stanley Turrentine, John Blake, Sr., Melvin Davis,
Bob Mover, Mulgrew Miller. Freddie has recorded five albums as a sideman
for George Benson, Bradford Hayes, Melvin Davis, New Jersey City University
Jazz Ensemble, and most recently with Rufus Reid.
Mr. Hendrix was a participant of both the Thelonius Monk Jazz Aspen Snowmass
and the Steans Institute for young artists (in association with the Ravinia
Jazz Festival). He's performed at both 100 Trumpet Salutes for Dizzy Gillespie
Memorial Concert in 1994 and at the reception held at John Harms theatre
in 1997.

Other performances have been the Jaz Mobile with legendary saxophonist
Lou Donaldson and a debut performance at the Cape May Jazz Festival in 2001.
Freddie's most recent endeavors have been playing with llinois Jacquet's
Big Band, Estoril Jazz Festival in Portugal with Rufus Reid's Quintet and
as a guest soloist along with Charles McPherson, Sir Roland Hanna and a big
band made up of some of New York's finest for a tribute to Louis Armstrong,
Charlie Parker and Duke Ellington at SUNY Purchase University. He has also
performed with Kevin Mahagany and Kendrick Oliver's "New Life Jazz Orchestra".
Freddie is available as a soloist, clinician as well as with his
quintet.
