Jazz Trombonist Erick Storckman is the kind of artist who can fall too easily between the cracks in a 21st Century musical landscape. His debut album "Scrapbook" stands as proff that comtemporary jazz composition is far from a lost art.

Erick is equally adept at penning a spare, elegant ballad, a churning bluesy burner, or a hard-bopper...

Jazz Trombonist Erick Storckman
New CD Storckman is a virtuoso trombonist who plays with a beautiful, velvety sound over the entire instrument. His stylistic heritage can be traced to a wide branching family tree of legendary trombonists: J.J. Johnson and Tommy Dorsey are easy to spot in his playing, and yet it is clear that years of slugging it out in New York and on the road, playing bebop, dixieland, r&b, salsa, and ska have given Erick his own distinct style.

Erick is currently the lead trombonist and contributing composer with Diane Moser's Composers Big Band. He is also a former arranger, songwriter, trombonist with the popular Ska band "The Toasters". Erick has performed and/or recorded with Marlene Verplank, Ed Palermo Big Band, Cab Calloway, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The O'Jays, Guy Lombardo's Royal Canadians.
