Stephen Holden joined The New York Times in 1988 after writing popular music criticism for Rolling Stone and The Village Voice. Now the paper's cabaret critic, he is also one of The Times' three regular film critics. Mr. Holden has also reviewed and written about music for many magazine and has been a staff writer and producer of contemporary artists and repertoire at RCA Records.

Elvis Mitchell, a film critic for The New York Times, was previously a film critic for The Fort-Worth Star Telegram, The Los Angeles Herald Examiner, and The Detroit Free Press. He has also written about film for Rolling Stone, GQ and Interview magazines. Over the past 15 years, he has become well known to a national audience as the entertainment critic of NPR's Weekend Edition with Scott Simon.

A.O. Scott joined The New York Times as a film critic in January 2000, regularly offering his views on new film releases. Previously, he was a Sunday book reviewer for Newsday, and a frequent contributor to Slate, The New York Review of Books and many other publications.

Jodi Kantor is the editor of Sunday Arts & Leisure, a post to which she was appointed in January 2003. Previously, she was editor of Slate, the online magazine, where she developed ways to use the Internet to write about the arts, including online slide shows and a weekly e-mail exchange between professional therapists about The Sopranos. She has also contributed to The New York Times Book Review.
