Earlier in the 2001 Broadway season, he starred in the Roundabout Theater Company's revival of The Man Who Came to Dinner. In films, Mr. Lane was most recently seen in Nicholas Nickleby, Stuart Little, and Mousehunt. His performance in The Birdcage earned him a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Golden Globe Nomination. The actor recently filmed Cabbages and Queens in London. John Darnton is a Pulitzer-Prize winning reporter with tremendous foreign reporting experience and a best-selling novelist who has worked for The New York Times for 36 years.
